Is
'practical roadster' an oxymoron? Maybe not.
Excerpts from an article by TONY SWAN
October 2002
It's the middle of October 2002 It's here. Well, almost here. Even
as we speak, skilled hands are torquing bolts and attaching electrical
gear to pilot-production editions of the Chevy SSR sports-roadster
pickup-truck hot-rod boulevard cruiser (fill in any extra descriptors
you like, we don't really know what to call it, either).
Is
it a truck? Is it a street rod? Is it a sporty convertible? Is it
retro or modern? Does it matter? Irrespective of where you think
it fits, two important questions come to mind as the production
SSR comes to market: How does it drive? And will people line up
to buy it? The first we can now answer; the second is up to you..
